Regretfully, it is not feasible to transfer your Provident Fund directly five years after quitting a company. After quitting a job, you have two months in general to start the PF transfer to your new employer’s account.
The good news is that, provided you continue to make contributions, your PF account stays operational even after you quit your job. You can still start the transfer using Form 13 (Revised) if you locate a new job within a reasonable amount of time and before your account becomes inactive (typically after 3 years with no contributions). You will be able to take advantage of continual interest accrual and consolidate your PF corpus in this way.
