In general, no company can legally hold your salary.

While there may be particular exceptions under certain conditions, such as:

• Notice period not worked: If you fail to give the complete notice period of time, your employer could deduct a certain amount of your salary.
• Employee misbehavior: In conditions of significant misconduct, the employer may take disciplinary action, including compensation cuts or holding.
• Loan deductions: If you have allowed salary deductions for loans or other commitments, the employer may deduct those amounts.

However, these are special exceptions; the general rule is that an employer must pay a worker’s salary on time.
